HASTELLOY C276

HASTELLOY C276 is a A nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy with an addition of tungsten having excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of severe environments. The high molybdenum content makes the alloy especially resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion. The low carbon content minimizes carbide precipitation during welding to maintain corrosion resistance in as-welded structures. Used in pollution control, chemical processing, pulp and paper production and waste treatment. Due to HASTELLOY C276 ‘s properties it is commonly used in pollution control, chemical, petrochemical and waste incineration applications.

Applications of HASTELLOY C276

  •  – HEAT EXCHANGERS
  •  – CHEMICAL STORAGE TANKS
  •  – OIL & GAS COMPONENTS
  •  – PIPING SYSTEMS
  •  – AEROSPACE ENGINE COMPONENTS
  •  – POWER GENERATION COMPONENTS

Hastelloy C276 is a high-performance nickel-based alloy that offers excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of aggressive media. It is a solid solution strengthened material that can be used in the as-welded condition.

Hastelloy C276 is resistant to corrosion in a variety of media, including:

  • – Strong oxidizers, such as ferric and cupric chlorides
  • – Wet chlorine gas
  • – Formic and acetic acids
  • – Sulfuric, phosphoric, and hydrochloric acids

This alloy is also resistant to stress corrosion cracking and pitting. It has good mechanical properties, including high strength and good ductility, and is easy to weld and fabricate.

Hast C276 is commonly used in chemical processing, pollution control, and power generation industries, as well as in the production of pharmaceuticals, food, and beverages. It is also used in the oil and gas industry, in marine environments, and in other applications where corrosion resistance is a key requirement.
