AMS 4930 Titanium Alloy Bars, Wire, Forgings, and Rings 6Al - 4V, Extra Low Interstitial (ELI) Annealed
AMS 4930 specification covers 6Al-4V titanium alloy in the form of bars, wire, forgings, flash welded rings, and stock for forging or flash welded rings.
ELI stands for Extra Low Interstitial. Reduced interstitial elements in oxygen and iron improve ductility and fracture toughness while maintaining strength.
This leads to 6Al-4V per AMS 4930 usually being applied to the medical industry for implants although it does not exclude its use from the Aerospace and Defense industries.
