HASTELLOY X per PDS 15102QFC
PDS 15102QFC is a Product Design Specification specification for Hastelloy X Sheet. HASTELLOY X (UNS N06002) is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy that possesses an exceptional combination of oxidation resistance, fabricability and high-temperature strength. It has also been found to be exceptionally resistant to stresscorrosion cracking in petrochemical applications. X alloy exhibits good ductility after prolonged exposure at temperatures of 1200, 1400, 1600°F (650, 760 and 870°C) for 16,000 hours
Applications of HASTELLOY X
HEAT EXCHANGERS
Hastelloy X can be used in the construction of heat exchangers for power plants and other energy production facilities. Its good corrosion resistance makes it well-suited for use in environments where heat exchangers are exposed to corrosive gases or liquids.
BOILER COMPONENTS
Hastelloy X can also be used in the construction of boiler components, such as tubes and headers, that are exposed to high temperatures and corrosive environments.
TURBINE BLADES
The high temperature strength of Hastelloy X makes it well-suited for use in the construction of turbine blades for gas turbine engines.
FUEL CELLS
Hastelloy X can be used in the construction of fuel cells, which are devices that convert chemical energy into electricity. Its corrosion resistance makes it well-suited for use in fuel cells that are exposed to corrosive gases.
AERO ENGINES
Hastelloy X can be used in the construction of jet engine components, such as blades and vanes, that are exposed to high temperatures and corrosive environments.
