AMS 5655

422 Stainless Steel per AMS 5655 is a hardenable stainless steel designed for use at temperatures of up to 1200ºF (649ºC). 422 Stainless has great resistance to scaling and oxidation. Through heat treatment, higher properties can be developed to further it’s performance. For AMS 5655 the specification calls for Corrosion and Heat Resistant, Bars and Forgings in the Hardened and Tempered Condition.

422 Stainless Steel is used in applications such as compressors or steam turbines and also in aircraft parts, valves, high temperature bolting etc
