AMS 6532 - High-Strength Aerospace Alloy Steel
AMS 6532 is a high-strength, low-alloy steel material specifically tailored to the challenging requirements of the aerospace industry’s structural applications and landing gear. The material is specifically tailored to provide the optimal combination of toughness, fatigue strength, and high yield strength.
The nickel, chromium, and molybdenum combination with the controlled low carbon content of the alloy provides superior hardenability, mechanical properties, and microstructures. The material is often produced by vacuum or electro slag processes to minimize defects and impurities, thereby providing predictable performance under flight conditions.
