Ti-6Al-2Sn-2Zr-2Mo-2Cr (Ti-6-2-2-2-2) Titanium Alloy Specifications
Ti-6Al-2Sn-2Zr-2Mo-2Cr (Ti-6-2-2-2-2) is a high-strength alpha-beta titanium alloy used in demanding aerospace structural and engine applications. This alloy provides excellent combinations of strength, fracture toughness, and stress corrosion resistance, particularly in the solution treated and aged (STA) condition, and is used where standard 6Al-4V cannot meet the required strength or temperature capability.
Ti-6-2-2-2-2 is used in structural airframe components, engine nacelle frames, and high-strength forgings for military aircraft programs. Fighter Jet Metals supplies Ti-6-2-2-2-2 titanium certified to AMS 4898, LMA-M5006, and LMA-M7003 specifications with full aerospace documentation.
6Al-4V is recommended for use at temperatures from -350° to 750°F (-210° to 400°C). Applications outside this temperature range are possible in certain situations. The alloy is weldable. Complex shapes can be made via hot forming. It machines like an austenitic stainless steel.
