Commercially Pure Titanium — Grades 1–4 Specifications
Commercially pure (CP) titanium Grades 1 through 4 cover unalloyed titanium with incrementally increasing strength and decreasing formability from Grade 1 (softest, most ductile) to Grade 4 (highest strength). CP titanium provides outstanding corrosion resistance, excellent biocompatibility, and full weldability — properties that make it the preferred choice where alloyed grades are not required.
Grade 2 is the most widely specified CP titanium grade in aerospace, chemical processing, marine, and medical applications. Fighter Jet Metals supplies commercially pure titanium in all standard product forms — sheet, strip, plate, bar, and billet — certified to SAE AMS specifications for aerospace and industrial customers.
6Al-4V is recommended for use at temperatures from -350° to 750°F (-210° to 400°C). Applications outside this temperature range are possible in certain situations. The alloy is weldable. Complex shapes can be made via hot forming. It machines like an austenitic stainless steel.
