M50 - High-Speed Tool Steel for Aerospace and Bearings
Aermet 100 is a high-strength, low-alloy steel that has a high yield strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance, making it perfect for the aerospace industry, where these properties are most important. This steel was made specifically to meet the high requirements of modern aircraft structures and landing gear, where reliability under severe conditions is critical.
The alloy has the best properties of low-carbon steel, combined with the benefits of nickel, chromium, and molybdenum, giving it good hardenability, high mechanical properties after heat treatment, and good cleanliness, with a minimum of non-metallic inclusions, through the process of vacuum melting or electroslag refining.
