Alloy 22 (Hastelloy C-22®) Nickel Alloy
Alloy 22 (Hastelloy C-22®, UNS N06022) is a fully austenitic, nickel-based corrosion-resistant alloy designed for extremely aggressive environments. With a nominal composition of 22% chromium, 14% molybdenum, and 3% tungsten, and tightly controlled iron content, it offers outstanding resistance to general corrosion, pitting, crevice attack, intergranular corrosion, and stress-corrosion cracking.
The high chromium content provides excellent performance in oxidizing media such as nitric acid and ferric or cupric salts, while the molybdenum and tungsten additions significantly improve resistance in reducing acids like sulfuric and hydrochloric. Alloy 22 also shows excellent resistance to seawater in both stagnant and flowing conditions, making it a trusted choice for high-risk, corrosive service.
Product Forms & Size Range - Alloy 22 Nickel Alloy
Fighter Jet Metals supplies Alloy 22 nickel alloy in the main product forms required for machining, fabrication, and weldment construction.
Alloy 22 round bar is available in diameters from approximately 0.125″ up to 14.00″, suitable for machined components, fasteners, pump shafts, and other high-integrity parts.
Alloy 22 flat bar is produced in a range of widths and thicknesses to support custom profiles, flanges, and fabricated components. Specific sizes and tolerances are supplied on request with your drawing or print.
Alloy 22 plate is offered in thicknesses from about 0.1875″ to 6.50″ for heavy-section components, vessels, and structural parts that must withstand severe corrosion and elevated temperatures.
Alloy 22 sheet is available in thin gauges from approximately 0.002″ to 0.150″, ideal for formed parts, linings, ducting, and complex fabrications in highly corrosive service.
