Nickel 600 per AMS 5540
AMS 5540 (UNS N06600) has excellent corrosion resistance, stability under high-temperature oxidation conditions, and resistance to chloride ion-induced stress corrosion cracking. This nickel-chromium alloy has been designed to be exceptional, offering dependability and longevity under harsh chemical and high-temperature conditions.
Its nickel content offers excellent resistance to reducing environments as well as stress cracking, and the chromium enhances its ability to combat oxidation attacks. In service up to elevated temperatures, Nickel 600, under the requirements of the specification AMS 5540, will retain its mechanical integrity over long durations.

Corrosion Resistance
Nickel 600 per AMS 5540 performs exceptionally in:
- Moderate reducing environments
- Oxidizing atmospheres
- Solutions containing chlorides
While highly resistant to a wide range of chemicals, the alloy should be avoided in strong oxidizing acids such as hot concentrated nitric acid.
