Nickel 617 per AMS 5889 Corrosion and Heat-Resistant Sheet & Strip
AMS 5889/UNS N06617 is referred to as the Nickel Chromium Cobalt Moly alloy 617, a specially constructed nickel-chromium-cobalt-moly alloy that is tailored to possess superior strength characteristics at ultra-high temperatures with excellent oxidation resistance. This kind of solid solution steel alloy maintains its mechanical stability and does not deteriorate from corrosion even at temperatures over 1800°F (980°C).
AMS 5889 contains Nickel 617 in sheet and strip materials. This is provided in Consumable Electrode (CE) as well as Vacuum Induction Melted (VIM) forms. The material is furnished in the annealed state.
