AMS 5713 - Rene 41 Nickel Alloy Bars, Forgings, and Rings
Rene 41, as defined by AMS 5713, is a nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum superalloy that is capable of withstanding extreme temperatures and corrosion in extreme environments. It is produced with vacuum melting, solution heat treating, and precipitation heat treating, making it suitable for applications where maximum performance is desired, from room temperature to 980°C (1800°F).
Rene 41, as defined by AMS 5713, is often produced in bar form, forgings, flash-welded rings, and stock for forging or heading, making it suitable for use in such applications as parts for jet and rocket engines, as well as turbines, where maximum mechanical properties are desired.
Key Properties of AMS 5713 Rene 41
- High-Temperature Strength: Maintains mechanical properties up to 980°C (1800°F)
- Corrosion Resistance: Excellent in oxidizing and hot gas environments
- Precipitation Hardenable: Achieves maximum tensile and creep strength through controlled heat treatment
- Fabricability: Suitable for forging, machining, and flash welding
- Applications: Ideal for turbine blades, wheels, fasteners, bolting, springs, and structural engine components
What is Alloy R-41 ?
Rene 41, also called Alloy R-41, is a nickel-base alloy designed to provide long-term high-temperature properties such as strength, oxidation resistance, and fatigue properties. Rene 41, which is age-hardened, retains excellent high mechanical properties from room temperatures up to 1800°F (980°C), making it a reliable alloy for highly stressed aerospace and gas turbine engine parts.
Certified Material for Critical Service
All Rene 41 materials supplied by Fighter Jet Metals are fully certified and traceable to relevant aerospace and military standards. Each batch undergoes heat treatment verification, ultrasonic testing, and chemical composition analysis to ensure compliance with AMS and ASTM International requirements.
