Aerospace Titanium
Aerospace Titanium Alloys for High-Performance Applications
Titanium is one of the most important metals in modern aerospace and defense. It offers a unique combination of high strength, low density, excellent corrosion resistance, and stability at elevated temperatures – making it ideal for critical structures, engine components, landing gear, and high-stress hardware.
At Fighter Jet Metals, we supply a full range of aerospace titanium grades in bar, plate, sheet, and forgings, certified to AMS, MIL, and major OEM specifications for flight-critical applications.
Aerospace Titanium Product Forms We Supply
We stock and source titanium in the main aerospace product forms:
Titanium round bar is ideal for machined parts, fasteners, and rotating components where high strength and low weight matter.
We supply aerospace titanium round bar in grades such as 6Al-4V, 6Al-6V-2Sn, 6-2-4-2, 6-2-4-6, Ti-6-2-2-2-2 and CP Grades 1–4, certified to AMS, MIL and OEM specs.
Size range: diameters from 0.125″ up to 14.00″ (grade and spec dependent).
Titanium flat bar is used for structural members, brackets, fittings, and precision-machined parts where a rectangular profile is required.
We offer titanium flat bar in a wide range of thicknesses and widths, cut to length and supplied to aerospace specifications.
Titanium plate is the workhorse form for hog-outs, heavy structural elements, armor, and pressure-containing components. It delivers high strength, toughness and excellent corrosion resistance for demanding aerospace and defense programs.
Thickness range: approximately 0.1875″ to 6.50″. Plate can be supplied rough-sawn or cut to size to reduce machining time and material waste.
Titanium sheet is ideal for skin panels, formed parts, fairings, ducts and lightweight enclosures that require formability and corrosion resistance. We stock titanium sheet in aerospace alloys and CP grades for both structural and non-structural applications.
Thickness range: from about 0.002″ up to 0.150″.
Aerospace Titanium Grades Available
6Al-4V Titanium
6Al-4V is the most widely used titanium alloy in aerospace, combining high strength, stiffness and good toughness with relatively low density. It offers higher tensile strength than commercially pure grades, excellent fatigue resistance for rotating and structural components, and very good corrosion resistance in demanding aerospace and marine environments.
6Al-6V-2Sn Titanium (6-6-2)
6Al-6V-2Sn is a heat-treatable, high-strength alpha-beta titanium alloy with greater section hardenability than 6Al-4V, making it suitable for thicker sections that still require high mechanical performance. It delivers excellent fatigue resistance and is widely used where strength and durability are critical over long service lives.
6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo Titanium (6-2-4-2)
6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo is an alpha-beta titanium alloy that can be heat treated to higher strengths in larger section sizes than 6Al-4V. It offers a strong balance of high strength, good ductility and resistance to low-cycle fatigue and fatigue-crack growth, which makes it a favorite for highly loaded rotating and structural components.
6Al-2Sn-4Zr-6Mo Titanium (6-2-4-6)
6Al-2Sn-4Zr-6Mo is a high-strength titanium alloy that combines titanium with aluminum, tin, zirconium and molybdenum to deliver very high strength, strong fatigue resistance and excellent performance at elevated temperatures. It is designed for demanding environments where both mechanical strength and thermal stability are crucial.
Ti-6-2-2-2-2 Aerospace Titanium
Ti-6-2-2-2-2 (Ti-6Al-2Sn-2Mo-2Cr) is a high-strength titanium alloy developed for demanding aerospace applications that require excellent high-temperature properties and reliable performance in high-stress environments. It offers good corrosion resistance and maintains strength and stability where many other alloys begin to soften.
5Al-2.5Sn Titanium & ELI
Grade 6 Ti-5Al-2.5Sn is designed for high service temperatures of around 480°C (896°F) while maintaining medium strength and excellent weldability and fabricability. It also offers strong oxidation resistance and microstructural stability, which makes it a reliable choice for long-term high-temperature service.
