AMS 6515 Maraging C350 Steel
AMS 6515 is a material specification for C350 maraging steel, an aircraft-quality material with ultra-high purity and reliability in mechanical properties, available as bars, forgings, mechanical tubing, flash-welded rings, and forging or ring stock.
Double vacuum melting and annealing are processes used to produce ultra-high purity and reliability in mechanical properties in C350 maraging steel.
Typical Applications of AMS 5615
AMS 6515 C350 maraging steel is widely used in industries requiring extreme strength and reliability:
• Missile and rocket motor cases
• Aircraft landing and takeoff gear components
• High-performance shafting and gears
• Aerospace fasteners and structural hardware
• Tooling and die equipment
What is C350 Maraging Steel ?
C350 maraging steel is a nickel-cobalt maraging alloy, with cobalt as the primary strengthening agent. These alloys develop their strength through aging heat treatment rather than carbon hardening, providing very high strength while maintaining excellent toughness, dimensional stability, and machinability in the annealed condition.
