MSRR 6508
MSRR 6508, which is associated with Jethete M152 (high-strength martensitic alloy steel), is a Rolls-Royce material specification that applies to what was developed for aerospace use at high temperatures.
In terms of performance, Jethete M152 has good creep resistance and excellent corrosion resistance, as well as relatively high mechanical properties; therefore, it is well-suited for very demanding applications in an engine. The nickel, molybdenum, and chromium in this alloy are typically supplied with a hardened and tempered finish to provide the strength and stability needed for turbine engine parts operating at approximately 560 degrees Celsius or higher.
Due to its consistent high-temperature performance and toughness; MSRR 6508 materials are used extensively in critically important aerospace fasteners and turbine hardware that require long-term strength and resistance to creep rupture.
Typical Applications of MSRR 6508
Materials produced to the MSRR 6508 specification are commonly used in aerospace and gas turbine components that operate under high stress and elevated temperatures. Typical applications include:
- Turbine blades
- Turbine discs
- Aerospace bolts and screws
- High-strength fasteners
- Precision rings and engine hardware
What is Jethete M152 ?
Jethete M152 is a type of stainless steel that is very tough and resistant to corrosion while at the same time possessing excellent strength properties. It is increasingly being used in the aerospace industry, the military, and heavy industries. It is a preferred material because it has excellent tensile strength, above 1700 MPa, and can withstand extreme conditions without failing.
