6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo Titanium per AMS 4975
AMS 4975 defines 6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo Titanium alloy, specifically 6-2-4-2 Titanium alloy in bar form, round bar form, flat bar form, and forging form. This alpha-beta Titanium alloy is capable of being treated for higher strengths compared to Ti-6Al-4V. This Titanium alloy is used for its reliability in withstanding the demands of working in an aerospace environment, including compressor disks, compressor blades, compressor seals, and various structural parts of the aircraft fuselage.
Product Forms & Size Range of AMS 4975
(6-2-4-2) Titanium Round Bar diameters range from 0.125″ to 14.00″ diameter.
(6-2-4-2) Titanium Flat Bar comes in a variety of thicknesses and widths. For more information please request a quote.
Applications of 6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo per AMS 4975
In the fuselage, 6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo may be used in the manufacture of various structural components, such as beams, frames, and stringers. These components help to give the fuselage its strength and stiffness and are responsible for resisting loads and stresses that are imposed on the aircraft during flight.
In an aircraft engine, (6-2-4-2) Titanium may be used in the manufacture of various structural components, such as turbine blades, discs, and vanes. These components are subjected to high temperatures and stresses during operation, and the use of 6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo helps to ensure that they are strong and able to withstand these conditions.
In a missile, (6-2-4-2) Titanium may be used in the manufacture of structural components, such as the body and fins, as well as in the guidance system and propulsion system. The structural components of a missile must be strong and able to withstand the stresses of flight, and the use of 6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo helps to ensure that these components are able to do so.
