DMS2275 - Titanium Alloy 6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo Sheet, Strip & Plate (Duplex Annealed)
DMS2275 is a Boeing material specification for the Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo titanium alloy, supplied in sheet, strip, and plate forms and in the duplex annealed condition. It specifies stringent requirements for chemical composition, heat treatment, mechanical properties, and quality of the final product, which are necessary for the reliable performance of the part in harsh environments typical of aviation.
DMS specifications originate from Boeing’s Long Beach facility under D1-4426 Approved Process Lists. DMS2275 / DMS 2275 originated at the Long Beach facility, therefore it is widely used for Boeing’s aircraft manufacturing at multiple locations.
Product Forms & Size Range of DMS2275
6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo Plate Thickness ranges from 0.1875″ to 6.50″ Thick.
6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo Sheet Thicknesses range from 0.002″ to .150″ Thick.
Applications of 6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo per DMS2275
In the fuselage, 6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo may be used in the manufacture of various structural components, such as beams, frames, and stringers. These components help to give the fuselage its strength and stiffness and are responsible for resisting loads and stresses that are imposed on the aircraft during flight.
In an aircraft engine, (6-2-4-2) Titanium may be used in the manufacture of various structural components, such as turbine blades, discs, and vanes. These components are subjected to high temperatures and stresses during operation, and the use of 6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo helps to ensure that they are strong and able to withstand these conditions.
In a missile, (6-2-4-2) Titanium may be used in the manufacture of structural components, such as the body and fins, as well as in the guidance system and propulsion system. The structural components of a missile must be strong and able to withstand the stresses of flight, and the use of 6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo helps to ensure that these components are able to do so.
