AMS 5758 - MP35N Cobalt-Nickel Alloy
MP35N per AMS 5758 is a multi-phase, cobalt-base alloy that delivers ultra-high strength, toughness, and exceptional corrosion resistance. It is a non-magnetic nickel-cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy, with ultimate tensile strength up to 300 ksi (2068 MPa), excellent ductility, and outstanding resistance to sulfidation, high-temperature oxidation, and hydrogen embrittlement.
This combination of properties makes MP35N per AMS 5758 ideal for applications requiring extreme strength, corrosion resistance, and reliability under critical conditions.
Applications of AMS 5758
- Structural components on the Space Shuttle
- Airframes
- Tie rods
- Petrochemical equipment
- Submersibles
- Marine equipment
- Leading edge strips
- Any other situation where high strength and good corrosion resistance are the most extreme demands.
What is MP35N ?
- MP35N alloy, which is also known by UNS R30035, is a super alloy consisting of nickel, cobalt, chromium, and molybdenum. It is particularly valued for its high strength, superior corrosion resistance, toughness, and biocompatibility. The properties are aligned in a manner that makes it a good alloy for use in various industries.
