WASPALOY PER DMD 0246-22
DMD 0246-22 Waspaloy is a nickel-based, age-hardenable superalloy used by Snecma and Safran. Designed to provide maximum strength at high temperatures, together with superb oxidation and corrosion resistance, this superalloy is used for bars and forgings that meet Safran’s Exacting Aerospace Quality Standards, with full traceability to provide assurance of reliability in critical rotating components.
The alloy composition of DMD 0246-22 Waspaloy provides maximum mechanical strength, thermal stability, and creep resistance up to 650°C (1200°F). This superalloy is used for critical components of gas turbine engines, missile components, shafts, spacers, seals, rings, casings, fasteners, and all critical airframe and engine hardware.
Typical Applications OF DMD 0246-22
DMD 0246-22 Waspaloy is commonly used in aerospace and defense applications, including:
- Turbine disks, rings, and shafts
- Compressor and engine casings
- Seals, spacers, and fasteners
- Airframe assemblies and missile components
SNECMA / SAFRAN Quality Requirements
Like many other Tier 1 Aerospace Manufacturers, SAFRAN has quality requirements in sourcing raw material. Fighter Jet Metals works to maintain SNECMA / SAFRAN QUALITY STANDARDS standards for Nickel 718 per DMD 0426-22.
Certified Material for Critical Service
WASPALOY supplied by Fighter Jet Metals is fully certified for critical aerospace and turbine service. Each batch is traceable with Material Test Reports (MTRs) confirming chemical composition, mechanical properties, and heat treatment.
Manufactured in accordance with leading industry specifications such as AMS 5704, AMS 5706, AMS 5707, AMS 5709, and AMS 5544, this certification ensures the alloy meets stringent aerospace quality assurance and performance standards.
WASPALOY is trusted for use in flight-critical rotating parts and high-stress propulsion systems where material integrity and reliability cannot be compromised.
