MIL-S-5059 STAINLESS STEEL
MIL-S-5059 is a United States Military Specification that describes the specifications and requirements for corrosion-resistant stainless steel alloys belonging to the 18-8 family and includes stainless steel plate, stainless steel sheet, and stainless steel strip. This old specification was originally developed for the military and aerospace industries. These industries require good mechanical properties and resistance to corrosion.
This old specification has been replaced by the newer specifications developed by SAE International. These specifications are as follows:
– AMS 5513
– AMS 5910 – AMS 5913
– AMS 5524
– AMS 5516 – AMS 5519
– AMS 5901 – AMS 5907
Product Forms & Size Range of MIL-S-5059
Stainless Steel Plate Thickness ranges from 0.1875″ to 6.50″ Thick.
Stainless Steel Sheet Thicknesses range from 0.002″ to .150″ Thick.
