AMS 4965 - 6Al-4V Titanium Alloy Bars, Wire, Forgings, and Rings (Solution Heat Treated & Aged)
AMS 4965 includes 6Al-4V titanium in bar form, wire, forgings, flash welded rings, and stock for forging or rings. The alloy is solution heat treated and aged to provide good mechanical properties, such as high strength, fatigue resistance, and excellent overall mechanical properties.
The heat treatment and aging of the alloy improve the microstructure to provide consistent properties across the alloy, making AMS 4965 a good selection for aerospace applications where high-performance reliability and weight efficiency are required.
Applications of AMS 4965 Titanium Alloy
AMS 4965 is widely used in aerospace, defense, and high-performance engineering:
- Aircraft structural components
- Turbine engine parts and fasteners
- Flash welded rings and custom forgings
- Marine and industrial applications requiring high fatigue resistance
- Medical devices and critical engineering components
What is 6Al-4V Titanium ?
6Al-4V titanium, also referred to as Ti-6Al-4V or Grade 5 titanium, is the most preferred titanium alloy by the aerospace industry. The alloy is preferred due to its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, excellent corrosion resistance, as well as its reliability under normal as well as high temperature conditions.
