AMS 4941 - Commercially Pure Titanium Strip
AMS 4941 is the SAE specification for commercially pure titanium strip in the annealed condition. This specification covers the chemistry, mechanical properties, and testing requirements for unalloyed titanium narrow, thin-gauge flat product for precision-formed aerospace and industrial components.
Commercially pure titanium strip per AMS 4941 is used for precision roll-formed aerospace components, spring-loaded mechanisms operating in corrosive environments, and lightweight structural formed parts where the formability and corrosion resistance of CP titanium are required in narrow, thin-gauge strip form.
6Al-4V is recommended for use at temperatures from -350° to 750°F (-210° to 400°C). Applications outside this temperature range are possible in certain situations. The alloy is weldable. Complex shapes can be made via hot forming. It machines like an austenitic stainless steel.
Applications of AMS 4941 Commercially Pure Titanium
- Aircraft Turbine Engine Components
- Aircraft Structural Components
- Aerospace Fasteners
- Formula 1 Parts
- Medical Devices
- Marine Applications
- Ship Propellers
