ACS-MRS-1205 - 6Al-4V Titanium Alloy Plate, Annealed
The standard is issued by Northrop Grumman under their standard ACS-MRS-1205. The standard calls for annealed 6Al-4V Titanium Plate. The standard was issued on August 22, 2016, and outlines what is required of 6Al-4V Titanium Plates when they are to be used in aerospace.
The alloy is a Ti-6Al-4V alloy, which is a mix of alpha-beta titanium with 6 percent aluminum and 4 percent vanadium. The mix has a high strength, ductility, and fracture toughness, all desirable features when using this alloy in various applications, especially in aerospace.
