AMS 4935 - 6Al-4V Titanium Alloy Extrusions and Flash Welded Rings (Annealed, Beta Processed)
AMS 4935 is an aerospace specification that covers 6Al-4V titanium, which is used as an extrusion, bar, shape, and flash welded ring material. The material is annealed as well as beta processed, which makes it suitable in terms of mechanical properties, as well as formability and corrosion resistance.
The beta processing of this titanium material makes it possible to heat the material beyond the beta transus, which makes it suitable when the design is not expected to go through the process of heat treatment, especially when the design needs a high strength-to-weight ratio. The titanium according to the AMS 4935 specification is suitable when the temperature is not expected to go beyond 750°F (399°C).
