DMD 424-22 - Snecma / Safran Specification for INCONEL 718
The material specification of DMD 424-22 is developed by the Safran/Snecma company for the UNS N07718 alloy designated under the INCONEL S718 designation. In this case, the specification ensures that the material is capable of consistent mechanical properties during operation, offers the highest degree of heat resistance, while possessing excellent metallurgical properties.
SNECMA / SAFRAN Quality Requirements
Like many other Tier 1 Aerospace Manufacturers, SAFRAN has quality requirements in sourcing raw material. Fighter Jet Metals works to maintain SNECMA / SAFRAN QUALITY STANDARDS standards for Nickel 718 per DMD 424-22
What Is NICKEL 718
Nickel 718 is an austenitic nickel-based superalloy. Nickel / Inconel 718 exhibits excellent high yield tensile and creep-rupture properties at temperatures up to 1300ºF and oxidation resistance to 1800ºF. Nickel 718 is used in applications that require high strength such as parts for jet engines and high speed airframe parts such as wheels, buckets, spacers and high temperature bolts and fasteners.
