Inconel 718 per MTS 1424-3 Bars and forgings
MTS 1424-3 is a material specification for MTU Aero Engines for Inconel 718 UNS N07718 bars and forgings supplied in a heat-treated condition.
It outlines the mechanical, thermal, and metallurgical properties of Nickel 718 components used in high-performance engine assemblies.
This alloy maintains exceptional tensile and fatigue strength, creep resistance, and oxidation stability up to 1300°F (704°C).
Core properties include:
Excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance
High creep-rupture strength and thermal stability
Superior machinability and weldability compared to other nickel alloys
Reliable performance under cyclic loading
What is Inconel 718 ?
Alloy 718 (UNS N07718) is an austenitic nickel-based superalloy. Alloy 718 exhibits excellent high yield tensile and creep-rupture properties at temperatures up to 1300ºF and oxidation resistance to 1800ºF. Alloy 718 is used in applications that require high strength such as parts for jet engines and high speed airframe parts such as wheels, buckets, spacers and high temperature bolts and fasteners.
MTU Aero and MTS 1424-3 Quality
Like many other Tier 1 Aerospace companies, MTU Aero holds its suppliers to a certain quality standard for their procurement process. Fighter Jet Metals will work with OEM’s and Manufacturers in maintaining MTS 1424-3 Quality Standards.
