PS15614 - Boeing Military Heat Treatment Specification for INCONEL 718
The PS15614 standard, also known as the Boeing Military Specification, is a set of procedures and guidelines for annealing and solution heat treatment for a specific type of alloy called INCONEL Alloy 718, which falls into the UNS category N07718. This ensures that it meets the best standards in terms of ductility and microstructure.
Fighter Jet Metals will work with you on your upcoming project to ensure that any heat treatment of material under PS 15614 specification is met
Applicable Materials
The PS15614 specification primarily applies to:
- INCONEL Alloy 718 (UNS N07718)
- Nickel-based superalloys requiring high tensile and creep resistance
- Components used in jet engines, turbine discs, bolts, and high-speed structures
Weldability of NICKEL 718
Because of a relatively slow aging reaction rate, welding Nickel 718 does not present the problems associated with most other high-temperature precipitation hardening alloys. INCONEL 718 may be welded in either the annealed or precipitation hardened condition. Accordingly, the alloy may be repair welded without difficulty.
